The collected tax could be used to buy large airplanes and jet fuel for Govrnment Bureaucrats to fly around and find other things that need taxing . I want to thank the Government for protecting me from my stupid self by adding new warning signs and caution labels to things that might one day destroy me . I think it is little of me to give my hard earned wages to them for the help and protection they give me. We should all be grateful to those that help us , I can almost go thru life in a mindless state , knowing that the Government will protect me if only I will just work my rear end off to pay some taxes. Bottled water and soda are not essential for living and a lot of the waters still can leach plastic byproducts into the water you just purchase (particularly, as the water gets warmer). I would put higher taxes on these kinds of things and maybe lower on candy which can have some redeeming value. The tax can be small where the consumer would hardly notice. Yes, all junk foods should have their taxes increased. Je pense qu'ils sont trop heureux d'tre obeise! Le fait que le gouvernement emet une taxe sur des cochonneries que le monde mange, c'est pas pour rien, reflechissez une fois, le fait d'emettre une taxe,c'est bien pour arreter de manger cette poubelle qui nous rend gros! You would still have the right to eat all the junk food you liked anyway! Personally I would be happy to see the costs of chips and lollies go up three-fold - I can't believe that they are cheaper than proper healthy food! As stated by the World Health Organisation "Proper nutrition and health are fundamental human rights" and my perception is that the heavy prevalence of junk food in western culture (and the saturation of the media with marketing for these) is getting in the way of this fundamental human right.
