When I try to understand healthcare reform I tend to focus on the industry rather than the individual. I think that individual habits have a lesser effect on healthcare costs than the people and companies that profit from medical care. For example sometimes in preparation for surgery an individually wrapped sterile pen is used to mark the surgical site...it is used once and than discared. I would love to have that contract.
